TDL Digital Spaces
Texas Digital Library (TDL) provides a suite of interconnected tools to support different stages of community work, from real-time chat to long-term preservation.
TDL Community Slack
Best for: Real-time collaboration and informal networking.
Who can join: Open to all members and partners.
Channels: Use #general for broad news or topic-specific channels (e.g., #tcdl-2026) for coordination.
Note: Messages are only archived for 90 days.
Support: Email info@tdl.org to request a dedicated channel for your group.
TDL Wiki
Best for: Active documentation and institutional memory.
Usage: Hosting group meeting notes, project planning, and living documentation.
Permissions: Editing is typically limited to service managers and group leadership. Submit a TDL Helpdesk ticket for guest access.
Note: Once wiki content (e.g., final reports or charters) is finalized, it should be moved to the TDL Digital Repository for permanent preservation using the TDL Repository Request Form.
TDL Digital Repository (DSpace)
Best for: Long-term preservation of research, reports, and final records.
Usage: Final versions of documents, papers, and accessible slide decks.
Access: Publicly searchable and archived permanently.
Submissions: Except for TCDL, all groups must submit a TDL Repository Request Form for each item.
Videos: TDL hosts videos on YouTube and links them to the repository. Video submissions must include an additional attachment (e.g., slides/logo) and proof of publication permission.
Accessibility: All files must meet TDL Repository Accessibility Requirements; non-compliant items will be denied.
Community Guidelines
All interactions across these spaces must adhere to the TDL Community Agreement. To report a violation, email info@tdl.org or submit an anonymous report via the TDL Suggestion Box.
