All workflow fields are eligible to be a filter parameter and will vary by the field input type. For example, free text fields such as Titles and Names will become a search box filter that offers more precise searching.
Date fields such as Graduation Semester and Defense Date will provide a calendar view for selection.
System generated fields such as Assigned To and Status will provide a fixed list of choices.
Fields associated with a controlled vocabulary will be search box filters with autocomplete functionality. For example, if you need to search for submissions with a degree in Education, begin typing "educ" in the Degree search box and a list will automatically appear with selections like Doctor of Education and Master of Education.
Adding Filter Parameters
To add additional filter types, click "Customize filters" in the Filter Options box. Simply click and drag your choices into the desired column, then click Save at the bottom of the window.
Combining Filters
When multiple filter categories are selected, the logic that joins them is "AND", whereas multiple values selected within the same filter category will be joined by "OR".
For example, if you want to see only Dissertations in Needs Corrections status, you would select Dissertations in the Submission Type filter AND Needs Correction from the Status filter to narrow down the list.
You could also choose to see only Dissertations that are either in the Needs Correction status OR another status like Submitted.
Once all of the above filters are in place, the list of ETDs is the result of the following equation:
Submission Type is “Dissertation″ AND (Status is "Submitted" OR Status is "Needs Correction”)
Status Filters
The status filter is unique in that it is split into Active and Archive states.
The ACTIVE state will include all of the Vireo ETD statuses that require further action by students or the graduate school to move them to an archived state.
The ARCHIVED state includes statuses that are meant to signify that work has been completed by the graduate school.
Active States:
- Submitted
- Under Review
- Needs Correction
- Corrections Received
- Waiting on Requirements
- On Hold
- Approved
Archived States:
- Pending Publication
- Published
- Withdrawn
- Cancelled
