PKP User Guide reference: https://docs.pkp.sfu.ca/learning-ojs/en/tools#quick-submit-plugin

The Quick Submit Plugin is useful for journals that have production-ready content that does not need to go through the usual submission, review, and editing processes. Content submitted via the Quick Submit plugin goes directly to the production stage. It can be useful in the following cases:

·         The journal is migrating to OJS from a different platform and has back issues to import.

·         The journal is not using OJS’s editorial workflow

·         The journal has digitized aticles/issue from an original print journal.

Thank you to Susan Elkins from Sam Houston State University for the initial documentation on which the following instructions are based.

Enable the plugin

Make sure that the plugin is enabled by going to Settings>Website>Plugins. Click the checkbox next to the QuickSubmit plugin to enable it.

If you do not see the QuickSubmit plugin listed, it may not have been installed with your journal. Contact the TDL Helpdesk at support@tdl.org to request installation.

Use the plugin to submit ready-to-publish articles

Navigate to the plugin

Go to Tools->Import/Export on left side of screen

On the Import/Export tab select the Quick submit Plugin.

Enter the Section & Title for the article you are submitting. You may also optionally upload a cover image for the article.

Enter Abstract & Keywords – copy and paste from the document.

Enter Author information

Start by clicking “add Contributor” and fill out the form for each author.

A pop-up form will appear asking for basic information about each author (Name, Email, Country are required)

For your consideration: Do you want to use the author’s email or a generic email for the journal?

Contributor Continued. Provide additional information about the author. (Note: for information about setting up ORCID authorization see ORCID Plugin documentation.)

Repeat the above process for each author.

Add the article galley

Click “Add galley.”

To create a new galley, begin by entering the label and language for the galley.

Step 1 - Article Component

Select the article component from the dropdown menu and upload the associated file by dragging and dropping.

Step 2 - Review Details

Click on the pencil to edit the name of the file. In this case you want to remove the author name from the file.

Step 3 - Confirm upload

At the end of the Quick Submit Plugin form, you can select whether you want the article you are adding to be published immediately or unpublished if you wish to publish it later.

If you select Unpublished, click save and continue to the next galley.

If you select Published, you will have to select the issue you would like to publish it in and enter the Date Published. You can also optionally enter page numbers and permissions information.

After you hit save you get a conformation of success. You can go to the submission or return to Quick Submit plugin and add another article.
