The User Preferences section, administrative users can control default options for adding notes and attaching files in the View tab.

Location

The SETTINGS tab of the Administrative interface in viewable to ROLE_ADMIN and ROLE_MANAGER.  It will appear to the right of the VIEW tab. 

Purpose

Settings control how things appear both in the administrative interface and in the student submission interface.   There are three possible sections in SETTINGSApplication, Workflow Management, and Organization

Not all administrative users will see the Settings tab when they log in.   

This section is only viewable to ROLE_ADMIN and ROLE_MANAGER
