If desired, institutions may choose to collect ORCID Identifiers with ETD submissions. An ORCID ID is a persistent digital identifier that distinguishes researchers from others. If set to "yes", Validate ORCID iD will confirm that the ORCID iD exists, using the ORCID API.
If set to "yes", Authenticate ORCID iD will compare the user information obtained from ORCID with the student's first and last name.
